Sylvie getting cuddled by her new mom and dad
Sylvie

9-8-17 Sweet Sylvie was adopted today. She went from a home with 26 dogs to a wonderful home with only one other dog. Lucky Sylvie. She has a older fur brother, a fenced backyard, and a mom and dad who will be home a lot to give her lots of love and attention. Lucky Sylvie no longer has to share love wth 25 other dogs. She gets to have a lap always ready for her and lots of cuddling and kisses. Sylvie will spend her day having fun, running around the backyard, and then lounging on the lanai with her mom and dad and brother. It doesn't get any better than that. Hooray for Sylvie.

Billy and his forever mom and dad
Billy

9/5/17 Billy was adopted today. This sweet, almost perfect boy was adopted today. Billy found himself in the shelter waiting for his family to come find him. No one came. He stayed in the shelter for 10 long days. UYR saw him on the rescue list and called about him. We were told he had and adopter coming for him the next day. Billy almost got adopted, but when the person who was going to adopt him found out he had a heart murmur they backed out. That was when UYR received a call from the shelter asking if we were still interested in taking him because he really needed to get out of there. His foster mom and some friends rushed to the shelter and hooray Billy was OUT!!! Billy has a very minor heart murmur, which doesn't stop him or slow him down one bit. He got his neuter and then because he was in the shelter for so long he developed Kennel Cough. Finally Billy was all recovered and what a great, wonderful dog he is. There is not a mean bone in his little body. He loves everyone whether they have two feet or four. All Billy needed was a forever home and that came today. He has a wonderful stay at home mom and dad. He had a fun backyard with birds and lizards and squirrels for him to chase all around. They may even get Billy a friend. Billy will be so happy. But first he got to go on a shopping trip to pick out some toys all for himself. What a wonderful life Billy will have. He found his Happy Tails and his tail hasn't stopped wagging since.

Zoey and new mom
Zoey Reign

Little Zoey Reign is FUREVER HOME with her Wonderful, New FurMom Debra Stone! These two have uncanny similarities that make them the perfect match! Debra's beloved Yorkie, Kobe cross over the rainbow bridge on July 4, 2017. Zoey unfortunately escaped from her original home on the very same day. Debra is wonderful, strong and intelligent woman who proudly served her country in the army. Zoey-Reign, a brave and fearless little creature who survived the dangers of a San Diego canyon for over seven days. Both brave warriors, both looking for love and companionship. Debra, a woman with deep knowledge, understanding and love for the Carin Terrier and Yorkshire Terrier Breeds. Zoey, a "CARKIE" that combines the best of both breeds in one tiny and spunky package. Debra, retired and living in a beautiful home in a lovely, little, southern town that's truly a "puppy paradise." Zoey....the name I gave this little foster hoping her life would be beautiful and abundant. Debra.... the Mom that will fulfill this hope and LOVE Zoey-Reign for all the days of her life! My heart is filled with JOY, LOVE and HAPPINESS FOR BOTH!

Sage is Adopted!
Sage

Bright eyed and bushy tail was I this beautiful Carolina morning. Foster mom readied me, and I got right up in the front seat of Foster's car, made myself comfortable, and we took off on a 2 hour drive crossing over into yet another Carolina searching for furever! Finally we got away from all those big trucks and we were on a shady little street, and we pulled up to this most welcoming little house with a beautiful calico cat on the front porch and the sweetest lady turned around and then came out to the car to see us. The car door opened and out I went to see who she was. OH, she was so happy to see me! THEN this nice man came out and he took me and walked me all around the front yard, and talked to me and we became really good friends. It was warm outside, so we went inside and that's where I met Winston! He came out of that gate in the kitchen and we ran and jumped and played all in the living room. Then we went through the kitchen dog door, and into the garage, where there was a runway for me to get out into the back yard through another dog door but I decided to go out to the big screened in porch and look around. What a time we were having. I sure was glad I had been at Fosters where I learned real good how to play with those boys! Then the nice lady and the man said for me to come into the bedroom there was something they wanted me to see. I looked in . . . . and there was a BIG bed, it was way too big for me, and then I saw this little bed, and Winston said that was his bed and it was too little for me. And I looked again, and there was a beautiful bed with a bed spread, and a ruffle, and a pillow and a headboard, and a soft mattress that was just my size. And they said it was mine, they had made it just for ME and they said they wanted me to stay with them. And I said YES! My new Mom and Dad are getting married in two months, and I'm going on a honeymoon, what ever that is, and it's at the beach - where ever that is, but the bestest thing is . . . Winston is going too!! I got my tail up and wagg'in as foster mom says . . .and THAT makes a Happy Tail! Here we are . . . Dad, me, Winston and Mom, and there's me and MY bed! THANKS UYR - you're the bestest! I found furever!

Charlie and new mom
TX Charlie

On 08/11/17 Charlie found his forever home! Charlie was surrendered to UYR when his owner, who is active military, realized that Charlie deserved more than being left in the care of others while being gone for weeks at a time. Charlie is 14 years young, and weighs about 11 pounds. He loves to cuddle on the couch and be near his person. He is housebroken and loves to take short walks. He is now living the life he deserves with his new family.

Rocky and new family
Rocky

08/08/17. Rocky came to United Yorkie Rescue with a fractured leg. He was a ball of energy and after his leg healed there was no stopping him. He needed to go to a home with other fur brothers, Ozzie and Frankie to play with. Not only did he find an amazing home with other fur brothers but, a home with another rescue from us, Ozzie. Ozzie is old and wise and Frankie has been waiting for a brother to play with. His new home has a nice fenced in back yard. Frankie and Ozzie ignored the squirrels but, Rocky is guarding his yard. The squirrels have learned how far Rocky can reach up and now think its a game. Rocky chases them from tree to tree. Rocky also enjoys playing with Frankie and getting lots of love from his new fur parents.
