Dooley
Dooley and new mom

Dooley
Little 5 lb Dooley came into UYR right before he was going to be euthanized at the shelter. He was surrendered by his owners, who had probably had him all the 10 years of his life, who said they, "didn't want him anymore". He was subsequently diagnosed with Chronic Bronchitis and once his medications were adjusted, he felt better and loved life. He was the sweetest, most affectionate little boy who loved his person ~ his foster parents adored him.
So did his forever mom who saw him on the computer at her home in Michigan and knew he was the one for her. She flew all the way to Florida to adopt this precious little bundle of joy. This is a testimony to the senior dogs - they still have so much love to give and receive - please don't turn away from them because of their age. We are so glad that his new mommy didn't do that..................
Here's what his new mom Ann said about Dooley shortly after her arrived in Michigan ..................
Well this little man Dooley has proven to be a class one traveler. He didn't whine or bark or get sick at the airports or with the flight. He sat in his carrier and was a little gentleman. He has checked the house out downstairs very well. During the day when he's in the house and not walking around the rooms, he rests by the dryer, so I put one of his beds down there for him. He is already attuned to me; when I'm getting ready to leave the house, he will go to his carrier and wait for me. We are going to a class for house-training. Sure hope it teaches him and me some good steps. He continuous to be a great friend and partner. Yes, he still sleeps with me and wants to sit with me when I sit down in my recliner. We are doing great together. Ann

Bitsy and new family

Bitsy
Hello UYR members,
I am so happy to report that I have a fur ever family now. I have a mommy and daddy that are retired, so we can be together all day most every day. I love kids now and get to play with the grand kids when they come over, I have loved that. While in foster care I lost a little over 3 pounds, so my hips feel a lot better. I found out I have allergies to grain, so now I get the really REALLY good stuff to eat.
Thank you so much for taking me into your foster program, I am so lucky to have been given the time, love and care you provide. My new family is going to keep my foster mommy updated on me, so she can let you know how I am doing.
I AM ADOPTED!
Love, Bitsy in Iowa

Theodore
Teddy is doing great! He is getting along nicely with his little fur brother, Tucker (another Yorkie) and his big fur sister Annie. We took him to the vet this past weekend and I am happy to report he now weighs 9.1 lbs. Teddy loves to cuddle with his mommy at every opportunity he gets. His mommy showers him with kisses plus he gets belly rubs from his papa.
He has a good appetite, loves to play tug of war with Tucker, and jumps up on the sofa when he needs down time. You may think he is sound asleep but if that doorbell rings oh boy the barking begins. Last week we visited a friend that has a 9 month old Yorkie. Teddy and Kypo had a blast together so we have decided to start a Yorkie play group!
Kristen, thank you so much for your support. You have been there every step of the way. I appreciate how I can just call, text, email and you get right back to me. You are an angel and I feel I am not alone in dealing with his liver condition.
Teddy has brought so much joy and love to my heart and home. I am truly blessed to have him. He stole my heart the minute I set my eyes on his photo and read his bio.
Thank you United Yorkie Rescue for all you do!

Joey (Tiger) and new parents
|
Tiger
Note from UYR: Tiger was an owner surrender whose owners were no longer able to care for him. (His name has been changed to Joey). He did have some small medical issues, and his adopters were very willing to care for them. Below is an update from his new forever parents:
Joey is very well-behaved and he is an absolute delight to have in our lives. He has been to the vet and everything checked out fine. He follows us all over the house and loves to sit on our laps and be held. He sleeps in bed with us. He likes going on walks and riding in his stroller when he gets tired. Also likes car rides in his car seat.
Thank you so much for facilitating his adoption and for all you do for Yorkies who need to be rescued.

Joey
Hello Friends,
I am finally with my "Forever Family". While in foster care I got over my fear of men, and learned to enjoy lots of attention. I enjoyed going many places, and meeting new people. After my foster mom took me in for an adjustment with a Chiropractor I was able to walk much better. I really am happy that United Yorkie Rescue was able to help me have a better life.
My "Forever Parents" are Matt and Morgan, I was shaking at first because I didn't want to leave my foster mom. However it didn't take long for me to get very comfortable with my new mommy, she is going to give me as much love as I came to enjoy over the last few weeks. When we got in the car to leave for my new home I was not shaking at all.
Loves and Puppy dogs Kisses, Joey

Jackpot
Jackpot was adopted yesterday by a wonderful couple, Donna and Joe. The lucky little boy will be moving with them in a couple of months to a ranch that they are having renovated as their new home. They have given us permission to post this picture. As you can see, Jackpot was totally focused on his new chewbone!

Angus
|
Angus
Angus is awesome! He is right at home, he loves everybody and we all love him! He has not whined or cried one time! He slept well last night, I decided that until he is totally housebroken he should sleep in his kennel and he settled right in like he was accustomed to sleeping in it. We have 2 kennels the traditional one and then the green, so I put him in the green with his bed so that he would have more space. Also, no one could agree as to who he should sleep with. Right now he is on my bed napping next to Jamian! Kalen had to work today and so didn't want to, because he didn't want to leave Sir Angus, he usually does all of the driving but this morning I had to drive him to work because he wanted to be in the back seat with Angus. It is like he has been here forever!!
Last night we took him to meet Natalie and his cousin Samson, they finally started playing after about 45 minutes. I can't remember what Jamian did but Samson barked at her, Angus jumped up in front of Jamian between she and Samson because he didn't appreciate Samson barking at her....too funny! I think Jamian may be his favorite, when we walked him last night, Jamian had to run back for a bag....he stopped and sat in the middle of the street waiting for her! You would never think that she was ever afraid, total transformation within less than 6 hours!
He hasn't had much of an appetite, I think the excitement is too much for him. I am sure he will settle in soon!
Colleen thank you so much, God used you to ensure that we got the most perfect match possible. Feel free to call anytime! We will send pictures as well. He is absolutely adorable, and has everyone completely smitten!

Frankie and new family
Frankie gets a Welcome Home cake
|
Frankie
Frankie is 10 years old and weighs 4.37 lbs. He was recently adopted into a wonderful home with two moms and a grand mom, too! Oh, and they had a keylime pie made for him that said "WELCOME HOME FRANKIE", so sweet, and a little card welcoming him to his new family. There were comfy doggie beds in every room, with toys everywhere for him to cuddle and play with. He was very curious about his new home, and surveyed everything, including the huge back yard. Your foster parents miss you Frankie!
Below what his new moms said about him during his first day in his new forever home:
Frankie is doing real well. We had a large storm when you left, and lost power for about an hour. We were concerned about Frankie, but he wasn't scared at all. Sent you pictures of the cake, him eating out of a flat plate, and he gobbled it down, and cleaned it all up.
WE held him a lot today, and he napped in our arms. He sat by the back door about 5 times, and he did do a little pee outside each time. Everytime he came in we gave him a little treat. That's probably why he goes and sits by the door. LOL He already has our number.
Right now he is beside me while I am on the computer. He is sleeping on a blanket on top of a pillow curled up. We have been here probably about 45 minutes so far. The 2 gates arrived today, and we just finished installing them. Oh, we ordered a stroller and that came today also. Will send you a picture when we stroll around. Mount Dora is very friendly to animals.
He is such a precious little boy. We have fallen in love with this little guy. We can't thank you enough for all you did. We will keep in touch.
