HAPPY TAILS
At United Yorkie Rescue we are blessed with an extraordinary success rate in finding forever homes for our rescued foster dogs. To share this joy we've created this "Happy Tails" page. Happy Tails is devoted to the celebration of these wonderful stories with everyone who loves dogs. We hope that you enjoy these "Tails" as much as we have. Thank you!!
Annie in loving embrace

Annie
Annie, a 12 year old (?) female I adopted from United Yorkie Rescue is adjusting very well into our household of four other dogs and three cats. She loves going on car rides to see her new "cousins" as we call my daughter's four dogs. When meeting my daughter for the first time, ,Annie ran over to her wagging her tail. Up to that point I never observed a tail wag from Annie. We also take walks to meet the neighbors--her walk partner is Chica, my Chihuahua. In spite of Annie's hearing loss her "furry" family is very respectful of her position and she has found a spot amongst them on the futon when we watch TV. Annie is very loving and a wonderful companion. I have always felt that when I became a senior it would be beneficial to adopt a senior dog to love; and for them to have an environment where they would be loved with no expectations. Also, I have checked out the new Dog Park near us and feel Annie would enjoy a social outing there very soon.
Woofs and wags to United Yorkie Rescue for all the time and effort they put into finding happy homes for the dogs they rescue.

Hey everyone. It's been a long wait, but my adoption is finally final and I am sooooo happy!!! My foster family fell in love with me while I was at their house and couldn't let me go, so I get to stay! They have another yorkie, so I have a brother (yippee I've got someone to play with) and there are a mom and dad and 2 teenage boys that love me so much and I love them right back even more. They are so nice to me and I'm very spoiled. Even though we live in Minnesota, I've go for lots of walks and get to play outside a lot -- I loooooove to be outside! Before I say goodbye and get taken off the website I want to thank my first mom for having the compassion and courage to surrender me to United Yorkie Rescue, so I could get my legs fixed after my accident. I will always love her and will never forget what she has done for me -- THANK YOU SO MUCH mom! I've included a couple of pictures, one of just me and the other has me with my brother -- aren't we handsome :-) Thank you to everyone who donated $ for my surgery -- I will never forget what the people from UYR have done for me so that can live a long and healthy life. XOXOXOXO

Dear FM Phyllis,
Thank you again soooooo much for saving me and loving me, and teaching me and loving me more. I'm thankful the United Yorkie Rescue found me before those other people did something really really bad to me.
Mom said we were going to take a family picture this afternoon to send to you for the Happy Tails page, but I have a Vet appointment at 2:30 which Mom says is the most important thing we are going to do today.
Mom is so strict! She won't open the front door unless I am behind those bars in the kitchen. And, every time we go out side, she has to brush me a little bit when we come back in. Sheesh!
This morning I laughed so hard at Mom. We took a nice long walk. I pooped good right in front of someone's mail box, and silly Mom forgot to take a Publix bag with us. Haha. We had to walk home, get a bag, and then go back to get my poop. So, I had an extra nice long walk. I love my walks and Mom and Dad say I do such a good job. I have had no accidents in the house yet - none! And, I like my new name.
I stole three pictures from Mom's camera. One is of Dad and me after I've had enough loving and I just want to be close to him and rest after my walk. One is of me in Mom's Chair in my new sweater, which felt so good this morning when it was cold. The last one is of my Gate and Tack Wall right between the kitchen and front door.
I love you Phyllis, and will write again. Will keep on Mom to send that family picture.

Byron & Bradley's new family
|
Bradley
A couple in their 60's were grieving the loss of their son Winston, a 10 year old Silky Terrier, while a set of twin Morkies were looking for a home after being abandoned in the woods. Now two problems are a beautiful solution for everyone. Bradley and Byron play and wrestle with each other. They go on long walks never more than a few inches from their sibling. They even shared dog kisses with each other for more than a minute one day. We are so blessed by their joy and loving personalities. Everyone that sees them must meet them. They are very popular with the other dogs in the neighborhood. Thank you United Yorkie Rescue for these precious additions to our family.

Maxx
Max is making everyone happy and starting to adjust to his new home. He gets very excited when someone comes in the house and only sometimes he barks. He loves running around in the park across the street and exploring. He has also made a home on the couch and Amy's lap in the chair. Here are a few pictures of him. Thank you so much for everything you did. We also got him a harness collar instead of the neck collar.

Champ
Grrrrreatings from Champ! I am so happy I found a family to love me furever! They keep telling me I'm the best puppy they could ever ask for! I think they are pretty great too. In fact, I already have them completely people-trained. For example, every time I roll on my back, they scratch my belly. When I stand up with my paws in the air, they always pick me up. When I bring a toy, they play fetch with me. They are really fast learners and so obedient. At night I snuggle with my girl-person. In the morning, when her alarm clock goes off, I smother her in licks and kisses. She must love it cuz it makes her laugh, and I'm told that I'm much more effective than the alarm clock! During the day I play like crazy with my sister Chloe. She is much smaller than I am so I'm very gentle with her, but she is soooo fast. We chase each other all over the house and backyard until we collapse, then we pant and pant, drink some water and start again. I didn't know a puppy could have so much fun and so much love all at the same time. A big "thank you" to all who helped rescue me and take care of me when I was scared.
Kisses and licks.... Champ
